XViewSDTS Beta Testing

Dapper Mapper is seeking folks to try out our SDTS map viewer.

XViewSDTS allows you to view map data that has been made available on the Internet from the United States Geological Survey (USGS) for free download in the Spatial Data Transfer Standard (SDTS) format. If you like, you may then use that data as a base map for custom maps that you create by adding an overlay map with your own objects. You may then print your maps, export them to image files, or export them to HTML files as image maps (optionally with tables or lists of data).

For details on what is possible, please see the XViewSDTS User Guide.

XViewSDTS is only available for PCs running Linux. It is currently undergoing beta testing in hopes of uncovering any remaining bugs or incompatibilities. There are hundreds of Linux distributions, and XViewSDTS hasn't yet been tried on most of them, so there are no guarantees that it is fully compatible with yours. By trying it out and giving us feedback, you will help Dapper Mapper make it so.

If you would like to try a free beta-test version of XViewSDTS, please send e-mail to beta@dappermapper.com and include the name and version of the Linux distribution that you will be testing it on.
